The Sia Yorker Brain Awareness Scholarship Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring the late Sia Christine Yorker's legacy, is hosting the 2023 4th Virtual 5K BRAIN HEMORRHAGE WALK/RUN Fundraiser.  Sia, who was accepted to the University of Florida Gainesville in her third year of college at the age of 19, died on June 21st, 2011 from a Sudden Acute Brain Hemorrhage. Sia concentrated on advancing education through health and fitness events, as well as community outreach with seniors and youth. 

The 4th Virtual 5K BRAIN HEMORRHAGE WALK/RUN will take place Saturday, October 7, 2023.  

Online registration is only available to those signing up as a Team or an Individual participant from outside the State of Florida. 

Since this is a Virtual 5K Brain Walk, You Choose The Time & Location! 

WHO: If you live outside of the State of Florida, this VIRTUAL 5K RUN/WALK is for YOU!

WHAT: A Virtual 5K is a race that can be completed from any location & time you choose. You get to run or walk your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself.

WHERE: Anywhere you want! A treadmill, a neighborhood street, a track, a foothill trail…it’s up to you.

WHEN: Complete your Virtual 5K any time on the date of October 7th, 2023.

HOW:    It's Your Call, Run, Skip, Bicycle, Roller Blade

1. Register online to receive your virtual race packet via mail* (Bib#, T-Shirt, Bracelet, and Brain Education Literature). 
2. Run, walk, jog, or skip a 5K distance (3.1 miles) anytime on Saturday, October 7th, 2023.
3. Report your race via email to (sybasf@gmail.com) with pictures to be displayed on the website.

All race revenues will go toward the Sia Yorker Brain Awareness Scholarship Fund, community education, and seminars on the warning signs and symptoms of acute brain hemorrhages and other adverse brain conditions.
