Board member: Why Sia's Foundation Is Important To Me!

As Sia's father, I watched this beautiful young lady and God's gift grow from one stage of life to the next, listening to her dreams and what she wanted to be when she grew up. Sometimes it would change, but it would always come back to be a "Pediatric Physician". She would always tell me, "Daddy," that when I got my practice, every child under the age of three would be cared for free. I'd tell her, "OK, go for it "Baby boom," you get the grades, and I'll get the money for college. Sia was a fun person who enjoyed shopping, taking pictures at the beach, and hanging out.

Sia Brain Awareness Scholarship Foundation, Inc. was established as a result of the sudden events that unfolded and Sia's transition to her heavenly home. I think Sia would have wanted to support others who were pursuing careers in medicine. When we award the scholarships to graduating seniors each year, I experience an unexplainable sense of joy as they begin a new chapter in their lives and prepare to become proud, upstanding members of society. I could go on and on about why I care so deeply about this foundation, but I think you get the idea. Sia would advise you to "Think Big" and "There are no limits" if she were present.
